“Bob brings fun and encouragement to their learning” - Sophie

Bob has been tutoring my 3 primary school aged children, Y2, Y4 and Y6, for the last year and a half. We were looking for a tutor to help with daily homework and to bring the kids up to speed with their reading, writing and times tables on a 1 to 1 basis, twice per week. 

My children warmed to Bob straight away and continue to enjoy and make progress from his lessons. We feel he can understand the children's different capabilities and needs and consequently has found methods to help them improve their understanding of fundamental maths and phonics for their relative age groups.  

Bob brings fun and encouragement to their learning, which has helped them to gain confidence in their ability to perform at school.  

Bob has shown dedication, has always been on time, gets back to my messages as promptly as he can and importantly, gives us constructive feedback on what aspects of our children's learning we need to concentrate on. 

We feel lucky to have found such a fantastic teacher!

Bob has been tutoring our 7 y/o boy, H, in order to build his confidence and ensure he has a strong base as he moves into Y3 and beyond.

Bob was able to very quickly build rapport, while identifying ways to increase and retain H's focus, for example, with movement breaks. Bob is firm but makes learning fun and H gets excited to see Bob each week. This has been lovely to see and something we value as it's hard to find a tutor who is able to instil such genuine enthusiasm.

Bob is able to work alongside H's daily learning for a unified approach. He has been mindful of not allowing H to plateau and pushing him to prepare for the ambitious targets set by his school, celebrating learning milestones as he goes.
